Story and Comments.: After Spending 12 hours in the stand I had enough for the day. I knew there was a major buck traveling this creek bottom, but it was a matter of timing to catch him. As I was walking back from the stand checking the trail for possible signs that I may have missed I looked up the trail (as I always try to do) at about 150 yards cutting back my way was the buck. He had not yet caught me in his sight. I pulled up my rifle an placed the only shot I had. The buck took about 4 steps and fell right there (advantage of a 300 winmag). I radioed out to my father-in-law and buddy who went with us. Which they quickly meet me at the road to help retrieve the big boy! Mike the Buck is going to look great on MY WALL!
