Year of Harvest: 2003 Time of Harvest: 10:00 Story and Comments.: It was December 4th a very cold quiet Thursday morning. I had been sitting for about 2 hour when I walked about 40 yards to a lower field to warm up and take a leak. I was in midstream when I heard a lot of noise from across a hollow, as I looked in that direction
a large deer stopped at the top of a ridge about a 100 yards from me and was looking in my direction. I slowly slid my rifle off my shoulder to look through my scope when he started off across the top of the ridge. I got him in my scope and saw a big rack and squeezed off a shot at his chest. He hit the ground hard and rolled a few times but never moved again. I waited as long as I could stand it and moved in, when I rolled him over and looked at that rack I was the happiest man in the world. My new Browning 7mm WSM, a lot of target practice and being at the right place at the right time (luck) had paid off.
